European Research Council (ERC) grantees play a very important role whiting their institutions. In a way they might be seen as ERC “ambassadors”, as they successfully passed all stages of this highly competitive scheme and secured international funding for their projects.

Therefore, ERC grantees might help and influence other scientists to move forward and submit their own proposals. Maria de Lurdes Rosa, awarded with the first ERC Consolidator Grant to a Portuguese researcher within the field of History, decided to hold up to this idea.

She organized this event with the goal of transferring her experience, with a presentation that ranges from the initial project idea to the necessary preparation on how to successfully match requirements to all stages of an ERC grant application.

This initiative was set up from the start to assure informal exchange of ideas, as a result there is a 24 cap on the number of participants in order to achieve this.
