Eleven classes from various schools of Portugal and São Tomé e Principe have been selected to participate in the school contest “CRIA VÍNCULOS COM A HISTÓRIA”, an initiative promoted by the VINCULUM project (IEM- NOVA.FCSH), in collaboration with the Academia das Ciências de Lisboa (Lisbon Academy of Sciences), and the Associação de Professores de História – APH (History Teachers Association).

Under the guidance of their History teachers, the eleventh-grade students have already chosen entailments from their municipality to work on, thus fostering their interest in Local History, historical research in general, and Archival Studies. This process has been monitored by members of the VINCULUM project, who have been providing clarification sessions to the students and teachers, alongside necessary data and/or resources that might contribute to their work.

The selected schools are Colégio Camões (Gondomar), Escola Secundária Leal da Câmara (Sintra), Colégio Internato dos Carvalhos (Vila Nova de Gaia), Colégio São João de Barros (Pombal), Agrupamento de Escolas Miguel Torga (Sintra), Escola Secundária de Gondomar, Escola Secundária de Camarate (Loures), Escola Portuguesa de São Tomé e Príncipe (CELP), and Colégio do Castanheiro (Ponta Delgada).

The texts resulting from the contest will be published in the project’s webiste as “Entail of the month” articles, and will later be published in the e-book gatherting all similar articles, published montlhy since December 2019.

The teachers are gathering information on the activity, and will be presenting it at a short course session at FCSH, during 2024, organized by VINCULUM and APH.
